Mark 11:25-26
There have been a few situations lately when I needed that scripture verse readily at hand!
It's REALLY hard to remember your Christian teachings and values when someone is trying to hurt you...physically, emotionally, or mentally. Thankfully, no one is hurting me physically; but emotionally and mentally can hurt worse than punches or slaps.
Another scripture verse I like a lot that pertains to this is:
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32
With the new year upon us, I am going to strive to live by these two verses. Granted, my first reaction will more than likely be anger; but I pray that God open my heart and allow forgiveness and compassion to flow freely after the initial response. I pray that my children will see this new behavior from their mother and follow in turn. It's something they can take to school with them, and share with their peers. The world would be A LOT better with more compassion and understanding! Amen?
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. Mark 11:25-26
Beth
