The Truth About Da Vinci

I stumbled upon the site The Truth About Da Vinci a couple of days ago. I was doing a search to find a site that offered the truths. I'm just sick over the fact that people will read this book, and see the movie, and BELIEVE IT!

I feel responsible to do my part to offer up the truth to people.

Some of what is covered on this website is:

Is Jesus God?
* The lie: "My dear," Teabing declared, "until that moment in history, Jesus was viewed by His followers as a mortal prophet. . . a great and powerful man, but a man nevertheless. A mortal." The Da Vinci Code p. 233
* The truth: The Old Testament requires that God come into the world, as Immanuel (God with us). Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel - Isaiah 7:14.

Was Jesus married?
* The lie: "Jesus was the original feminist. He intended for the future of the church to be in the hands of Mary Magdalene" Sir Leigh Teabing, The Da Vinci Code p.248
* The truth: The Son of God came to earth not to start a family but to save the Church, which is his true bride. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body - Ephesians 5:22-33

Lost Books of the Bible - Are they real?
* The lie: "More than eighty gospels were considered for the New Testament, and yet only a relatively few were chosen." Sir Leigh Teabing, The Da Vinci Code p.231
* The truth: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen - Revelation 22:18-21

I REALLY want to stress to people that they examine what the Da Vinci code states. I'm undecided if I should read it or not, simply because I don't want to upset myself with those horrid lies. However, if you have read it, or plan to please do yourself a favor and also read a book that counters the topics in The Da Vinci Code. Just so that you have both sides of these theories. There are several books (none of which I have read) on this topic:
